“The programme was not only an audio-visual treat, but also a lot of food for the soul. Seldom do we come across programs where you find the artist totally immersed in what she was doing. Her dance was visual poetry. I must also compliment Lakshmi Ramaswamy for the tremendous work she is doing. Seldom do you find teachers who are so generous in sharing their knowledge with the students. “

She was selected as the best dancer of VDS Arts academy in the year 2009 under their talent revealing opportunity programme and also made her guru proud by getting her the best teacher award for the program. “This evening’s programme was like a PhD thesis unfolding itself, a thesis on music, dance literature. The programme was not only an audio-visual treat, but also a lot of food for the soul. Seldom do we come across programs where you find the artist totally immersed in what she was doing. Her dance was visual poetry. I must also compliment Lakshmi Ramaswamy for the tremendous work she is doing. Seldom do you find teachers who are so generous in sharing their knowledge with the students. The talent revealing programme was such a mature and professional presentation. Hats off to Lakshmi for that.” Said the veteran dance Guru Smt. Jayanthi Subramaniam while addressing the gathering on that day.

Ten years later, she continues to preserve the passion for her natya even with a 3-year old daughter. She once again made her Guru proud by getting selected as the best solo dancer by Parthasarathy Swami Sabha for her solo recital in March 2019.

Born and raised in Chennai, she is multi-lingual and also has keen interest in research in the field of arts. She was working with an IT firm for 4 years.
